Great article in yesterdays SF Chronicle about the perfect conditions last weekend at Mavericks. Just north of Half Moon Bay, the unique shape of underwater rock formations allow for some huge waves. Last weekend saw up to 30 foot surf, and calm winds. Some of my favorite quotes from the article:
