"Dannielle Tegeder's drawings and paintings resemble engineering blueprints for the inner workings of a new civilization. These "safe cities" are unpeopled, underground landscapes awaiting the occupancy of a post-apocalyptic society. Each work is experienced as a cutaway, subterranean view with a horizon line delineating the surface from the land below. While the configurations vary, recurrent forms created to perform particular functions provide the foundation for this world of the future."
